Old Brathay provides fantastic self-catering facilities, and is situated on Brathay Hall’s Lake District estate, overlooking the picturesque River Brathay.

With 8 large bunk rooms Old Brathay can accommodate up to 32 guests with Wi-Fi throughout. It boasts 2 relaxing lounge areas with comfy sofas, televisions and even some fun games, like table football - anyone for a tournament? There are also 2 airy group rooms, shower facilities and a small kitchenette for preparing light meals.

If you are looking for a bigger kitchen and dining space for your group, we have you covered! The adjacent building has a fully fitted kitchen with large dining area.

If you have a larger group, you can add Lingmoor to your booking to sleep up to 52 across two buildings.

The Brathay Hall estate is the Ambleside base of Brathay Trust. The charity’s mission is to improve the life chances of children, young people, and families by inspiring them to engage positively in their communities. 

When the site is not in full use for our development programmes, we are able to offer self-catering accommodation, Profits from offering this go towards our continuing work with children and young people.

Old Brathay price: From £600 per night, therefore approximately £19 per person, per night charge

Lingmoor price: From £480 per night, for both properties it is approximately £21 per person, per night

2-night minimum stay required
